Vantage Industries, an Atlanta, Georgia company, was acquired by Leggett and Platt in 1994. The Coated Fabrics Division was formed as a result of the acquisition of Sunbelt Products in 1995.
The basic products manufactured are a PVC coated polyester substrate which is used in a variety of commercial and residential applications, and an EVA coated substrate used as rug pad for rug over carpet applications.
Extensive research and development projects have generated successful new products and product applications. As a result, Vantage currently markets directly to retailers and distributors, a much broader variety of coated fabric products than ever before. Examples of products produced by Vantage include: shelf liners, bath mats, shower mats, and sink mats, place mats, transportation damage prevention mats, yoga and physical therapy mats, non-slip poster boards and camping mats, among others.

This rug pad is very nice, a little thicker than some others I've seen. We have it under a flat woven wool rug by Merida and it is perfect! Just thick enough to give the rug a bit of cushion without making it look like it's standing off the floor. The pad was super easy to cut to size, and definitely keeps the rug in place on our hardwood floors. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because it had a very toxic odor upon opening which took a couple weeks to dissipate. In a household of No-VOC paint, non-toxic, biodegradable cleaners, no wall to wall carpet, etc, the odor was a bit of a shock. That being said, we've had the pad for about 2 1/2 weeks now and the odor is no longer noticeable. I just wish they could make the pad out of something a little more environmentally friendly.

I bought one of these to put under a large Afghan rug 14'x10' on a wood floor to give cushioning and protect the rug. It works really well. It is nice to walk on the carpet and it feels all soft underfoot. So I bought 2 more for some other rugs I have. They come in various sizes and are also easy to trim to fit with scissors.

I use this rug pad under my area rugs in several rooms. I bought them to provide more cushion than the ones I was using. I am totally delighted with them. Far better than I had hoped.

I use this rug pad underneath an outdoor rug that I have in a dining area. It is on a hardwood floor. It makes the outdoor rug look like it is an indoor rug! Very thick and plush. I love it.
